Colorized a photo of U.S. Army Pfc. Fred Linden of Detroit, MI, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, holding and talking to a young French boy following the liberation of the village of Trévières during the Battle of Normandy 10 June 1944.

Colorized a vintage vehicle, one of my favorite subjects.  This time, a delivery truck for milk and dairy products from the Walker Hill company, from a photo at Shorpy.

Will do anything for love

Colorized an undated of of two love birds with some acrobatic feat for the man, possibly taken in the 50s.  Used extensive colorization and compositing to put details in an old grainy photo with obscured details.

Colorized a rather nicely photographed picture of the antagonists of WWII that started the war.  Flanking Adolf Hitler were Heinrich Himmler (left) and Felix Steiner (right) with some unknown offers behind.

Colorized a WWII photo of 2 smoking soldiers of the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division behind an M-4 Sherman tank at the ruins of Geich, near Düren, Germany, while the area still under allied bombardment. Added shelling smoke in the background in two versions: mid-day overcast and dusk settings.

Lighting up the street

Came across a desaturated picture of a modern European street leaving just the street lights colored and offered as a b&w downloadable PC wallpaper. Tried to scour the internet to see the original b&w or colored photo (so I wouldn't colorize) but no luck. At any rate, I like the compositional structure and completed the colorization of the scene with lens flares on some of the street light bubs.

Soviet soldiers liberating Jews at Aushwitz, 1945

Colorized a WWII photo of Jewish prisoners lucky to have survived and liberated by Soviet Army soldiers at Auschwitz towards the end of the war.  Providing a bit of realism where possible included dirtied faces, dirtied and worn prison garb and soldiers' uniform.  Creating a more natural unpainted brick wall required colorizing each brick. The cloning tool was a great help with composited bricks from online sources to populate the entire wall.
