A pub house called Drovers Arms in Wales, ca 1930s

Colorized a photo of a restored Drovers Arms at the highest points of the Mynydd Epynt mountain in Pentre Dolau Honddu, Wales prior to being closed in 1940 when the entire area was taken over by the military and closed off for training. Based on the site here http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wlsbfhs/article01.htm, It has been on the mountain as early as the 1850s and was then called Tynmynydd, The image I used in the colorization may have been a restored structure after the 1940 takeover by the military of the entire area. It is now a soldier's barracks.

Winston Churchill, 1941, colorized

Here is my take on a photo of Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the Canadian Parliament, December 1941, colorized from a photo by Yousuf Karsh. Winston Churchill made a memorable and emotional speech to the Canadian Parliament on this day, thanking Canada for its support in the Second World War. He assured his listeners that Britain would never surrender to "Hitler and his Nazi gang" saying, "they have asked for total war. Let us make sure they get it".

How an office looked like in 1902

Colorized a vintage photo of an office at Richmond & Backus, Co. in 1902. Made it look like a winter dusk and the two are working a bit late. Love those large windows. I don't think you have them in today's offices. Management learned that windows distract your from being productive.

A 1919 Paige Touring Car, colorized with some liberties

With some colorizing liberties, recreated the scene in the vintage photo on a sunset setting, putting some lens flares on the car body and the glint of the sun rays on the some surfaces on the house and car.

Cleo De Merode (1875 - 1966), 1905

Another colorized vintage portrait of the most photographed woman in Europe in the early 1900s, also from Falex Nadar taken 1905.

Cleo de Merode (1875 - 1966), by Felix Nadar , 1905

Revisited my directory full of downloads of Cleo de Merode's vintage photos.  Colorized another, first is this from French Photo journalist Felix Nadar in 1905. To those who don't know, Cleo (Cléopatra Diane de Mérode) was the most photographed woman in Europe during her prime, the equivalent of a supermodel today, and enjoyed similar acclaim as a fellow Frech beauty Bridgette Bardot. To know more about her, just Google her name and there are countless resources on her.

Newsies taking a break. 1910

Here is my colorized take on a commonly colorized image of Newsies smoking at Skeeter’s Branch, St. Louis, Missouri, May 9, 1910.  at a time when smoking was cool, not surgeon general warning, until the mid 60s.  Original b&w photo photo by Lewis Hine.  Some liberties taken on the backdrop. See if you can identify.

A portrait photoshoot gone wrong

A vintage post card with girl bitten by her partner for a portrait.

Little girl in blue holding a cat for a portrait, ca 1903-1905

Here's my colorized take on vintage war photo of Soviet artillery soldiers transporting a 76-mm M1942 (ZiS-3) gun over the Oder River, Germany, colorized from a 1944 photo by Dmitri Baltermants with excellent composition and simple color contrast.

Soviet soldiers liberating Jews at Aushwitz, 1945

Colorized a WWII photo of Jewish prisoners lucky to have survived and liberated by Soviet Army soldiers at Auschwitz towards the end of the war.  Providing a bit of realism where possible included dirtied faces, dirtied and worn prison garb and soldiers' uniform.  Creating a more natural unpainted brick wall required colorizing each brick. The cloning tool was a great help with composited bricks from online sources to populate the entire wall.
